Ellen founded Clean Markets in 2008, applying her 30 years of leadership experience in the energy industry to expand the market for clean energy solutions. Ellen has led Clean Markets to become an award-winning market development firm serving utility and state government programs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Under her leadership, Clean Markets has delivered over 700 GWh of energy savings, trained more than 2,500 trade allies, managed hundreds of customer events and webinars, and authored dozens of published articles designed to raise awareness and increase program participation. Ellen has also led the development of the Building Energy Efficiency Retrofit Investment Model (B-RIM), a pre-audit financial modeling tool that won the Consortium for Building Energy Innovation’s 2015 Commercialization Challenge.

Prior to founding Clean Markets, Ellen was Director of Marketing for Exelon’s $1.5 billion portfolio of unregulated businesses and served as Director of Eastern U.S. Development for Gamesa Energy, one of the world’s largest wind technology companies. She also served as a Regional Director and National Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Ellen received a Master’s degree in Energy Resources Management from Southbank University in London and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Montclair University in New Jersey. She holds an Executive Certificate in Essentials of Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Ellen currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance, and the Wissahickon Charter School. In between work and volunteering, Ellen loves to spend time playing outdoors- hiking, gardening, kayaking, cross- country skiing and biking.
