From KEEA Executive Director Jeaneen Zappa:
“This week we’re celebrating two great wins demonstrating Governor Shapiro’s leadership in getting affordable energy to Pennsylvania and our neighboring states from clean, reliable sources—like energy efficiency. First, the Governor’s tentative FERC settlement with PJM will rein in runaway energy prices and save consumers more than $21 billion over the next two years, as well as making an important step toward the long-term PJM reforms that will avoid more price spikes in the future. Second, the Governor’s new Lightning Plan for energy includes several cost-cutting energy efficiency measures and reforms, such as increased rebates for efficient appliances and expanded incentives for efficiency resources in PRESS, the Governor’s proposed update to Pennsylvania’s outdated Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard.”
