Matt Wurst

Mr. Wurst is policy advisor to Chairman Gladys M. Brown of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. In his advisory role he counsels the Chairman on regulatory proceedings and legislative developments related to the electricity, natural gas, and water industries within Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic, and on the federal level. Mr. Wurst presently sits as Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Staff Subcommittee on Energy. He began his public service career in 2006 at the Pennsylvania Treasury Department. In 2008 he started at the Public Utility Commission, where he held various technical positions in his time leading to his current role; including working in the Commission’s Bureau of Fixed Utility Services as a Financial Analyst and working in the Commission’s Bureau of Conservation, Economics, and Energy Planning as a Utility, Energy, and Conservation Analyst. Mr. Wurst received his M.B.A. from the Florida State University College of Business and his Bachelors of Science in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business.
