Kevin Warren

Kevin Warren, PE, is the principal and founder of Warren Energy. Prior to founding the company, he was co-founder and principal of kW Engineering in Oakland, CA. As a registered Professional Engineer, he has led energy audits of millions of square feet of facilities and has conducted impact evaluation analyses for complex projects in many jurisdictions. He has also performed energy engineering analyses for hundreds of buildings and process facilities. This work has included conducting and managing field surveys of energy use, development of metering plans and installation of metering equipment, and identification and evaluation of energy-saving projects.

Kevin is a nationally recognized expert on measurement and verification (M&V) and impact evaluation. He is an active member of the Energy Valuation Organization’s (EVO) International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) committee. He recently represented EVO in efforts by the North American Energy Standards Board to create national standards for calculation of energy impacts and currently represents EVO in the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) Energy Efficiency Standards Collaborative. Kevin was recently part of the team revising the M&V protocols used by Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). He is also a member of the Technical Advisor Group for NREL’s Uniform EM&V Methods Project (UMP).

Kevin has a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Licensed Professional Engineer in DE, PA, CA, MD, and NY. He lives in Lincoln University, PA with his wife and two sons.
