- Aftyn Giles is a Pittsburgh native that received her Bachelor of Architecture and International Relations (dual major) 2008 and Master of Science in Sustainable Design 2009 from Carnegie Mellon University and Master of Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2011.
- Ms. Giles is the City of Pittsburgh’s Sustainability Coordinator, a position that she has held with the City since 2011.
- As Sustainability Coordinator, Ms. Giles collaborates with City and community officials to resolve areas of environmental, operational and building performance inefficiency. Using her skills as a project manager, she coordinates strategies on annual projects to improve quality of life services for Pittsburgh residents, facilities and City of Pittsburgh employees; reports on program progress with internal and external stakeholders; drafts policies and procedures and conduct training workshops as part of City workforce and community development programs; represents the City at public assemblies; and plans performance upgrades within the City’s portfolio of 300 facilities.
